Glas Italia – The architecture of light and the magic of glass
Founded in 1972 in Macherio, in the heart of Brianza, Glas Italia is rooted in the Arosio family’s long-standing passion and glassmaking tradition. With an industrial yet tailor-made approach, the company has stood out from the very beginning for its ability to push glass beyond the limits of the material, experimenting with highly advanced techniques: invisible bonding, dichroic glass, iridescent reflections, complex grinding and rigorous geometries.
Under the historic art direction of Piero Lissoni, Glas Italia has partnered with the most influential names in world design — from Patricia Urquiola to Nendo, from Philippe Starck to Jasper Morrison, up to the great master Ettore Sottsass — turning sheets of glass into furniture that looks like contemporary sculpture.
Among the most fascinating and iconic creations: the hypnotic Shimmer series of low tables in dichroic glass that changes colour with the light (Patricia Urquiola, 2015), the gradient Deep Sea bookcase (Nendo, 2013), the Boxinbox storage units (Philippe Starck, 2015), the celebrated mirrors Gli Specchi di Dioniso (Ettore Sottsass, 2007) and the jewel-like Kooh-I-Noor tables (Piero Lissoni).
Glas Italia does not simply produce glass furniture: it explores colour, light and optical illusion to create objects that enchant and redefine space.

We listen, show you the alternatives in the catalogue and discuss any doubts about how well the product fits your space. Visualisation in renders or Virtual Reality, where needed, lets you understand it before you even place the order.
Delivery on your schedule, not the warehouse’s
We manage orders with the goal of finding the best window for you. If you have a building site, a deadline or a move coming up, we organise ourselves around those needs.
Someone you can trust in your home
Delivery and assembly are carried out by a Mariani employee: a person from our company, not an on-call subcontractor. Many of our clients give us direct access while they are at work. If something is not right during assembly, there is someone who comes back — not a ticket number.
Before, during and after
We are not a store with staff that changes every season. The person who helped you choose is the same person who manages the delivery and who answers if, three months later, there is an issue. A stable structure, where relationships last longer than a single purchase.
