During Milan Design Week 2026, our showroom on Via Visconti di Modrone, in the heart of the Milan Design District, was chosen by Arflex as the official location for its Fuorisalone. On display, the new collections designed by Jaime Hayon. It's not a detail: it's the recognition of a relationship built over time.
There are collaborations born for an event and ending with it. And there are others that an event merely makes visible. The Arflex installation in our Milan space belongs to the second kind: behind the Salone week lies the daily work of an authorised retailer that represents the brand all year round, knows its products and can tell their story to whoever walks into the showroom.
Who Arflex is
Arflex was founded in 1947 in Giussano, in Brianza, from the intuition of Carlo Barassi, Renato Teani, Pio Reggiani and Aldo Bai. The very name declares its founding revolution: "Ar-flex", flexible furnishings. It was among the first companies to bring foam rubber and elastic materials into the Italian living room, transforming the very idea of the sofa.
Since then the brand has run through the history of Italian design working with some of its protagonists — Marco Zanuso, Cini Boeri, Franco Albini, Mario Marenco, up to the international Claesson Koivisto Rune and, today, Jaime Hayon.
Arflex's iconic pieces
Strips — modular sofa, Cini Boeri, 1968 (Compasso d'Oro).
Boborelax — armchair, Cini Boeri, 1967.
Marenco — soft modular system, Mario Marenco, 1970.
Elettra — chair, BBPR, 1952.
Why a historic brand chooses a showroom
When a company with Arflex's history decides where to present its new pieces during the most important week in world design, it doesn't pick an address at random. It picks a space that speaks its language: location, quality of the installation, the ability to welcome clients and professionals the right way.
Our San Babila showroom is three minutes from the MM2 metro, in the heart of the Design District, with private parking that can be booked for clients. But location is only the frame. What counts is the way we work: as authorised retailers we have access to the brands' full catalogues — not just what's on display — and we support every client through the choice, all the way to delivery and assembly with our in-house team.
What it means for those furnishing a home
For those who visited us during Design Week, the Arflex installation was a chance to see and touch the new pieces. But the value remains even after the Salone closes its doors: an Arflex sofa — like every piece of the brands we represent — can be configured to measure, delivered and installed by our team, and set into a complete interior project if that's what's needed.
- Authorised Arflex retailer: warranty, spare parts and real configurations
- Access to the full catalogue, not just the display
- Delivery and assembly by the in-house Mariani team, never subcontractors
- The option to set the piece into a turn-key interior project
Arflex is one of the brands we represent, alongside FLOS, Zanotta, Cattelan Italia, Fredericia, FIAM Italia, Glas Italia, Gessi and over fifty Italian and international brands. If you want to discover them, the starting point is our iconic design collection, or a visit to the showroom — where the difference, as we like to say, is felt in person.
