The Arflex Edo is a seating system you compose like a drawing: straight strokes,
wide curves, islands and corners. It is the work of the Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune, from 2023.
Here at Mariani, official Arflex retailers in Milan and Arluno, we explain how it works, how to get a quote
and where to try it.

The design: from Tokio to Edo
Arflex presents Edo as a system related to the Tokio collection, also by Claesson
Koivisto Rune. You can see the kinship in the soft forms and full volumes; the difference is inside:
the internal construction has been completely re-engineered to achieve a higher
level of comfort.
If you already know the Tokio sofa, Edo is the next step
in the same language: the same visual calm, with a seat designed for long, comfortable sitting.

The designers
A Swedish studio working across architecture and design.
Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in 1995 as an architectural office and works, in the classic Scandinavian way, across disciplines: architecture and design. Its built projects include the Sfera Building, a culture house in Kyoto, and its products are made by more than thirty international companies.
For Arflex the studio has designed many pieces, from Tokio to Bonsai and Claudine. Edo, from 2023, follows the Tokio aesthetic but with a completely re-engineered internal construction, designed to reach a higher level of comfort.

Features: a system that follows the room
Edo's strength is the variety of its units. Alongside the straight sofas there are curved units,
islands and curved poufs: you can close off a corner, draw a half-circle around the coffee table or
leave the composition open in the middle of the room.
Straight and curved units — sofas, one-arm, armless, corner and island units.
Three depths — many units come in 106, 122 and 138 cm depths.
Metal feet — in a Graphite finish.
Fabric upholstery — from the Arflex collection: bouclé, chenille, wools, linens and canvas.
