The Arflex Arcolor is a modular sofa system built on one simple figure: the arch. It was designed in 2017 by Jaime Hayon, the Spanish designer who works across furniture, ceramics and interiors. Arflex describes the Arcolor as a modular system designed around the classical geometry of the arch: a disciplined use of that shape, from the very start, to arrive at something organic.
You can see it in the compositions: backs that follow a continuous curve, rounded ends and trapezoid sofas that draw soft layouts, with no sharp corners.
Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974 and studied industrial design in Madrid and Paris. In 1997 he joined Fabrica, Benetton's research centre in Italy, where he ran the design department until 2003; in 2000 he set up his own studio.
His work ranges from furniture to ceramics, lighting and interiors, and has been shown at the Design Museum in London, the Centre Pompidou and the Groninger Museum. In 2010 Maison&Objet named him Designer of the Year. Today the studio has offices in Italy, Spain and Japan.
The Arcolor is not only a straight sofa: with the trapezoid and island units you can build curved, central compositions meant to be seen from every side.

The price of the Arcolor depends on the units you choose, the size of the composition and the fabric band. We are official Arflex retailers: we work from the current price list and send you a quote for your configuration.

The Arflex catalogue lists 205, 245, 284 and 344 cm sofas and 252 and 356 cm trapezoid sofas; one-arm units of 103 and 123 cm, armless units of 79 and 99 cm, trapezoid island units of 208 and 228 cm, a 94 cm corner unit, poufs and a corner table.
The base is wood, in black, grey RAL 7036, bordeaux and RAL 1013.
