The Arflex Claudine is a sofa with a tailored feel: the seat seems to float on an
upturned edge, like a collar. It was designed by the Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune in 2014.
Here at Mariani, official Arflex retailers in Milan and Arluno, we explain its units, upholstery,
how to get a quote and where to try it.

The design: a collar for a sofa
Arflex describes the Claudine as a sofa floating on an upturned edge, reminiscent of the
dress collar known in France as the "col Claudine". You can see the detail clearly in the
photos: the base draws a thin outline beneath the cushions and lightens the whole volume.
The Claudine comes in two versions, Claudine L and Claudine M, with the same
list of units in the catalogue. In our showroom we help you choose the right one for your space.

The designers
A Swedish studio working across architecture and design.
Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in 1995 as an architectural office and works, in the classic Scandinavian way, across disciplines: architecture and design. Its built projects include the Sfera Building in Kyoto and a number of retail spaces.
For Arflex the studio has designed many pieces: Claudine in 2014, then Bonsai in 2016 and Edo in 2023, as well as Tokio. In Claudine the reference is tailoring: the upturned edge the seat rests on recalls the "col Claudine" collar.
