Arflex describes it like this: the Delta Vienna stands out for its triangular, almost wing-like legs and for the sides of its backrest. This geometry gives it its name and makes it recognisable even from a distance.
The silhouette is made in solid wood and contrasts with the seat and back in Vienna straw: on one side a sharp, dark outline, on the other the light, pale texture of the weave. The result is a low, airy chair that never weighs a room down.
Claesson Koivisto Rune began in 1995 as an architecture practice and grew into a multidisciplinary studio working on both buildings and objects, in the Scandinavian tradition.
Its designs are produced by more than thirty international manufacturers. For Arflex the studio has designed, among others, the Brigitte and Hug armchairs, the Tokio sofa and the Bonsai family. The 2022 Delta Vienna is a clear example: a few sharp shapes and a precise contrast of materials.
The Delta Vienna has no padding to hide its construction: everything you see is frame and weave. That is why it works next to a statement sofa, in an entrance or in a bedroom, wherever a light seat is needed.
